System

Voltage & Fan;

default := depending on your motherboard
This will show the chip MBM is using to readout your voltages and fan's

Sensor 1, 2 and 3;

default := none;
Here you can select what sensor should be checked for temperature, you can select: (order they where added to mbm)

Please examine the compatibility section if you are not sure what to select for your board.

Auto Detect Chips;

default := True
With this box checked the above chips will only show up if mbm detects them. Since the detection routine is still new and probably not 100% correct you have the option to turn it off.

Check temperature, voltage and fan readout every X seconds;

default := 5 seconds;
Using the up and down arrows will determine the interval that the program uses to check the all the chips on your motherboard
. Anything lower than 5 seconds is not recommended. The value selected here will impact the ignore Fan Alarm X seconds on the Fan Tab

 

Prefrences

Run MBM on Windows Startup;

default := UnChecked;
Checking this will adjust the Windows Registry in such a way that when you bootup windows it will try to locate and launch Motherboard Monitor.

When you check this, the program will show you the Path and File name it will place in the Registry. Moving the program to another place on your hard drive will result in a failure of Windows trying to locate and launch the program.

Startup MBM in System Tray;

default := Checked;
Checking this will make Motherboard Monitor startup straight in the system tray. Un-Checking this will make the program start up in Show small mode.

Enable Exit Question;

default := Checked;
Checking this will make Motherboard Monitor ask you if you really want to Close the program when you press Close in the popup menu.

Show Splash Screen at Start-up;

default := Checked;
Uncheck this to no longer see the splash screen.

Tab on top at startup;

default := General;
With this pull down box you can determine the tab you want to have on top when you start Motherboard Monitor. This will take effect the next time you start the program.

Visible Tabs;

default := ;
In this drop down list you can select which tabs you want to see.

There are a few tabs you can not change:

PC Speaker Freq;

default := 500;
With this slider you can select the frequency used by the PC Speaker Alarm. Click on the Speaker to hear the current frequency.

Use ; in CSV File;

default := ;
The symbol you enter here will be used in the CSV file, it depends a bit on how your Excel is setup, for some it is the ; for other it might be a ,

 

Options

Show Temperature in;

default := Celcius
Select either Celcius or Fahrenheit.

Round Fahrenheit off;

default := Checked
Uncheck this is you don't want the Fahrenheit reading to be rounded off. If you do this then the readout might not look -as it should- in the system tray since there is not much room there.

Allow negative values;

default := UnChecked
If you check this then any negative value the chip might produce will be displayed, this is only of use to a few people.

Show VUMeters vertical in Show small view;

default := Checked;
Uncheck will make the VUMeters show horizontal in the Show Small window.

Place log option in popup menu;

default := UnChecked;
Check this if you want to 4 log option (Start, Stop, View and Delete) in the popup menu..

Use degree symbol in window

default := Checked;
Uncheck this will remove the degree symbol in the VUMeters and Option tabs.

Repeat Alarm Waves;

default := UnChecked;
Check this if you want to loop any of the alarm waves you selected

Remove MBM from the registry for a clean start

default := ;
Pressing this button will erase MBM from the registry and close it. It might be usefull if you have some anomality.

Save Registry settings to file

default := ;
Pressing this button will write your mbm registry settings to a .REG file in the MBM directory, this file will have the name "MBM Settings <current date>.reg

If for some reason you lose you MBM settings (clean windows install) you can merge this file into your registry by right clicking on it and selecting Merge, please do this before you 1st start mbm.
